The Arctic Star is made by FIRMIN in the U.K. an official MoD contractor for this particular medal, highest quality British made, die struck, with pin clasp on reverse as per MoD regulations, direct from the manufacturer.
It was announced on the 26 February 2013, by the Minister of State for Defence Personnel, Welfare and Veterans Mark Francois that all the details have been confirmed for the Arctic Star and the Bomber Command Clasp and the application process has now opened. It will be the last one of the 9 Campaign Stars awarded for service during WW2. Up to 120,000 veterans – or their next of kin – are believed to be eligible for the Arctic Star.
